Good looks versus functionality! |
Product DesignIt has to be said that there is a exhaustive list of reasons for focusing on the aesthetic looks or effective functionality or a combination of both. Some popular retail products are well known to have both and others are equally well known to only have one. It seems that the reason for this battle within product design is fuelled by a number of sources - a strong minded designer, the perceived market, the funder or the customer. All have a claim on the 'right' idea. A successful product design project will focus on a big list of considerations (including manufacturing, packaging, materials, recycling, repairs, safety, regulations, costs, lifecycle, audience, appeal, etc. etc.) It will always be hard to get every one of them optimised, but the happy challenge is to try! How can I help you?
With my engineering background and a wealth of personal practical projects I am well placed to advise, guide and direct your product design projects. With some great contacts in the other supporting industries (packaging engineers, retail and promotions etc.) I can help organise the best finished products. Explain to me what you have in mind and I will help you make it become a reality. Please see the examples of my typical product design services shown below.
