I don't have time for staff training!

As I understand it effective training is the process of 1. Learning and then 2. Practicing and then repeating these steps over and over. This produces a deeper understanding, improvement, experience and proficiency. The trainer is often more than a teacher as they actually demonstrate effective skills, encourage participation and help others evaluate their performance.

If we have any desire to be the best in our business, to move into new territory, up-skill or attain to further qualifications then training and a mentors encouragement is essential. To achieve this we need the people and staff around us to be well trained too.

So, when a leader states that there is no time for staff training the time will eventually come when in fact this becomes literally true! (Think about it.)
